Winning information to build your DraftKings NASCAR teams for the Daytona 500. Fantasy picks, tips and info including top plays and pivots for your NASCAR fa. Here are the best fantasy NASCAR picks and optimal lineup this week for the Daytona 500 for FanDuel, DraftKings or any DFS racing game. The 2019 NASCAR season begins on Sunday, Feb.
After one of the shortest off-seasons in pro sports, the 2019 Monster Energy Cup Series season kicks off this week with the Great American Race, the Daytona 500. This race is unlike no other in the way it is setup with a qualifying session(last Sunday) that only sets the front row followed by two qualifying races(Thursday night) that set the rest of the field.
The track is 2.5-mile Tri-Oval Superspeedway with 31 degrees of banking in the corners that helps create speeds in excess of 200 mph. The Daytona 500 is also the last race where we will see traditional restrictor plates(used to reduce horsepower and speed for safety) used as NASCAR introduced big changes for the 2019 season including a tapered spacer that will be adjusted for each individual track. More on the rule changes come next week when they are in place.
For fantasy, place differential is the key this week as the almost anyone can win the race and cars can move through the field quite easy with the draft between multiple cars. There have been 10 or more drivers to record double-digit place differential in four straight and five of the last six races at Daytona. A slightly contrarian approach this week would be to target some dominator points(laps led + fast laps) as three times a driver has led 90 or more laps in the last six races, twice that driver(Keselowski-2016, Hamlin2016) has won the race and twice that driver has started from a Top 5 starting position). We have already seen this play out in Speedweeks where cars have quickly gone to single file with one driver leading a ton of laps. Paul Menard led 51 of 59 in the Clash, Kevin Harvick led 44 of 60 in Duel #1, and Clint Bowyer led 41 of 60 in Duel #2. I will also be stacking teammates and like manufacturers who will most likely be drafting together. While there is a ton of variance in DFS NASCAR and especially with plate racing, that does not mean we can go into our lineup construction without a gameplan and strategy.
In this article, I will be looking at some of the top targets in each price range looking at track history, current form, and of practice and qualifying information. Va lottery keno drawings. Brad Keselowski(DK - $10,600 FD - $12,200)
I mentioned place differential as the key this week and Brad Keselowski provides just that. He finished 20th in his Duel race on Thursday which will put him back in the 35th position for the Daytona 500 on Sunday. He isn’t a lock(no one is) by any means, however, as he has ended up in a crash in four straight Daytona races since winning the July race in 2016 and overall has just four Top 10’s in 19 races here. I am not too concerned as he is a good plate racer and the Ford camp looked very good during the Duels. I expect him to move up through the field and eventually find one of his drafting partners in teammates Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, or Paul Menard who drives the #21 who is a technical alliance of Team Penske.
Kyle Busch(DK - $9,600 FD - $10,300)
Much like Keselowski, Kyle Busch has struggled here recently with four straight finishes outside the Top 20 but has had success here in the past. In 2016, he finished 3rd at the Daytona 500 behind Martin Truex Jr. and race winner and teammate Denny Hamlin and then followed it up with a runner-up finish here in the Summer behind Brad Keselowski. What I like most here is that he is $1,000(DK) and $1,900(FD) cheaper than Keselowski and will also be starting near the back(31st) giving us elite place differential upside. It also makes sense if using Busch to stack him with former Daytona 500 winner, Denny Hamlin, new teammate Martin Truex Jr., or Erik Jones.
Mid Tier Targets
Kurt Busch(DK - $8,700 FD - $10,000)
Busch is in a new ride this season driving the #1 car for Chip Ganassi Racing and looking to start things off on the right foot at a race he has had success at in the past. He was caught up in an accident here last year but won the 2017 Daytona 500 finish 10th in 2016 at this race and overall he has four Top 10’s in his last eight Daytona races. Hew is also one of the best plate racers in the field(4th best career average finish at Daytona/Talladega) which makes his mid-tier price seem like a bargain. Starting 12th, he also gives us some place differential upside and will be one of my core drivers this week.
Paul Menard(DK - $7,400 FD - $7,600)Draftkings
One of my favorite value plays this week is Paul Menard in the #21 for Wood Brothers Racing. His Speedweeks started off very well as he led the first 51 laps at the Clash before getting taken out on the closing lap and followed it up with a 3rd in his Duel race. That gives him a 8th place starting position for Sunday which is not ideal but the price is right to take a shot. The good news is that he has had a ton of success here finishing 6th and 5th in his last two Daytona 500’s and Top 10 in three of his last four at the track.
Value Target
Ryan Newman(DK - $7,000 FD - $6,700)
The first driver that stands out in the value range is Ryan Newman. He returns to Daytona with three straight finishes of 8th or better and has finished 21st or better in seven straight races at the track. He is another driver in a new ride this year as he took over the #6 for Roush Fenway Racing and will start 19th on Sunday giving him some nice place differential upside as well. © Provided by CBS Sports
The 2020 Daytona 500 takes place on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET and NASCAR’s biggest race of the season also happens to be one of the biggest events in NASCAR daily Fantasy. DraftKings is running an $888,888 America’s Race tournament and FanDuel has a $150,000 NASCAR Super Intimidator. With big money on the line, you’ll definitely want to make sure you’re getting maximum value out of your NASCAR DFS lineups on Sunday.
Defending NASCAR champion Kyle Busch has one win at Daytona in the 2013 Coke Zero 400, and he finished second in last year’s Daytona 500. Black rose pokies online. He’d love to cement his legacy as an all-time great with a win in the Great American Race. Three career top-five finishes at Daytona will make him a popular option in the NASCAR DFS driver pool. However, there are seven former winners in the 2020 Daytona 500 field and 40 cars running at 200 mph for 200 laps means just about anything can happen. Be sure to check out the optimal NASCAR DFS strategy and advice from Mike McClure before locking any Daytona 500 DFS lineups.

To finish out the 2019 season in Homestead, McClure was all over Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick on both sites. The result: Truex finished second and Harvick finished fourth, giving daily fantasy players a huge boost. Then last week at the invitation-only Busch Clash at Daytona, McClure had eventual winner Erik Jones in his roster on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Now, he’s turned his attention to the 2020 Daytona 500 and only sharing his picks here. Daytona 500 Draftkings Picks WkTop 2020 Daytona 500 NASCAR DFS picks
For the 2020 Daytona 500, McClure is banking on Denny Hamlin at $10,400 on DraftKings and $13,000 on FanDuel. Hamlin won the 2016 Daytona 500 and the 2019 Daytona 500 and is a 37-time NASCAR Cup Series winner.
Long considered a short-track specialist, Hamlin now has three wins at superspeedways. Hamlin has six top-four finishes now in the Daytona 500 and Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas went 1-2-3 in last year’s race. They’re clearly dialed in on this track, making Hamlin a must-roster on Sunday.
McClure’s optimal Nascar at Daytona DFS strategy also involves rostering Clint Bowyer ($8,600 on DraftKings, $9,000 on FanDuel), who has 12 career top-10 finishes at Daytona International Speedway. Gold dimes magazine. Four of those top 10s have come in the Daytona 500 and Bowyer has to like his setup for the 2020 Daytona 500 after finishing third in the 2020 Busch Clash at Daytona after starting in sixth position. How to set your Daytona 500 DFS lineups
McClure is also targeting a value driver with a strong track record at Daytona. He’s in prime position to make a run at the checkered flag and comes at a price that won’t break the bank. This pick could be the difference between cashing huge in your NASCAR DFS tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing.
